Job Description:

Seeking an arts-enthusiast with box office/fundraising and/or sales experience to coordinate Tapestry Opera’s box office activities and participate in direct sales and fundraising campaigns. The box officer will work with the Manager of Patron Engagement and Individual Giving to ensure box office transactions are tracked and completed, and provide administrative support for direct sales and fundraising activities. They will be responsible for managing the box office during productions.
In addition, the Box Officer will connect with Tapestry’s existing audience base over the phone to promote ticket and subscription sales as well as generate donations in support of Tapestry’s annual activities.

The successful candidate will be available to work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2pm to 9pm (21Hrs/week) with some additional evenings and weekends required when shows are running.


  • Excellent communications skills–well spoken and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Database experience an asset -specifically Patron Manager or SalesForce.
  • Attention to detail and strong ability to multitask.
  • Motivated and passionate about theatre/arts–a love for and knowledge of opera would be amazing, but is not required.
  • Goal oriented and team focused.
  • Box office or front of house experience an asset.
  • Direct sales experience an asset.
  • Successful telemarketing experience an asset.
