General Auditions Feb 14 and 15 2018
Tapestry Opera will be holding auditions for its 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 seasons on February 14 and 15, 2018.
General Director Michael Hidetoshi Mori is looking for classically trained singer-actors with professional experience in opera, new music, and theatre. Performers who have previously auditioned for Tapestry may apply to re-audition, but may not be guaranteed a spot if they have been recently heard by the company. Tapestry Opera is a Canadian Actors Equity Association company working under the Canadian Theatre Agreement. CAEA performers with professional experience in opera will be scheduled first. Non-CAEA performers or CAEA performers without professional opera experience are required to submit an MP3 or hyperlink to a recording of their voice featuring repertoire that is suitable to the requirements of the musical and dramatic challenges in contemporary opera and music theatre.
Tapestry will be casting for six upcoming shows and a number of workshops over the 18/19 and 19/20 seasons during this audition process. Tapestry Opera is Canada’s leading contemporary opera producer and developer, annually commissioning, developing, and producing works with socially relevant and progressive themes and new music that breaks the rules.
