Alida Doornberg

Performance

Alida Doornberg is the alto section lead for Echo Women’s Choir, and voice teacher and administrator at Classical Music Conservatory. She served as the interim music coordinator for College Street United Church from December 2021-February 2022. Alida was a 2021 Fellow in Toronto Summer Music Festival’s Art of Song Program. Opera roles include: Ino in Semele (Toronto Lyric Opera Centre); Dorabella in Cosi fan Tutte, and Cornelia in Julius Caesar (Summer Opera Lyric Theatre).

Chorus credits: La bohème (Against the Grain Theatre), and Candide (Toronto Operetta Theatre). Summer festivals: Taos Opera Institute in New Mexico; Vancouver International Song Institute French Mélodie Immersion; and “Si parla, si canta” in Urbania, Italy. Past concert highlights: Mystic Light (Amadeus Choir); Sing Along Messiah (Early Music Voices Calgary); Little Mahagonny (Voicebox: Opera in Concert). Alida earned her Master’s of Music at the University of Toronto and Bachelor’s of Music at New England Conservatory.
