New Opera 101

Masterclass and showcase for emerging singers and pianists

New Opera 101 is a masterclass intensive for emerging singers and collaborative pianists, culminating in our concert showcase, Songbook

Participants are assigned contemporary Canadian repertoire, individually curated from Tapestry’s forty-year history of developing and producing new works. Singers and pianists prepare and refine their repertoire, expertly coached by expert new opera clinicians in three days of masterclasses. The performers showcase their work in a concert, Songbook, alongside the clinicians.
