Tapestry Opera is thrilled to launch season two of our Free Underground Concerts series, a seven-part series offering the public a diverse range of high-calibre musical performances, all free of charge. Moreover, Free Underground Concerts connects world-class artists across disciplines with the community in an accessible, intimate setting, at the Nancy & Ed Jackman Performance Centre, enriching the city’s cultural landscape.
The second season of Free Underground Concerts will feature performances from pianist, composer and visual artist John Kameel Farah; multi-disciplinary artist Tamara Podemski in a preview of her upcoming autobiographical work, Where the Spirit Sits, presented in partnership with Nightwood Theatre; and a new musical experiment from acclaimed tap dancer Travis Knights.
In an effort to make Free Underground Concerts even more welcoming and inclusive, all concerts this season are 45-minutes long, suitable for families and audiences of all ages, and presented in a Relaxed Environment (RE), designed to welcome audiences who have various access needs that a traditional concert/theatre setting may not always accommodate.
