So many great memories! What comes readily to mind is being brought to tears by Jacques Arsenault‘s heartfelt rendition of Grand-pré following Pierre-André Doucet‘s crash course in Acadian history, all while enjoying a taste of chicken fricot at Le Kitchen Party.
Singing! The choir room and drama space were my home base throughout high school and into university. I’ll always cherish the memory of performing in my high school’s vocal jazz quintet (picture black cocktail dresses and long white gloves) at a music festival in New York and accepting the “Best Feature of a Jazz Ensemble” award—at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square, no less!
I look forward to taking leisurely lunchtime strolls through nearby green spaces like Ramsden Park, where we recently hosted a Box Concert.
It’s no secret that I’m a musical theatre nerd. [title of show] will always be at the top of my list (I’m one of the 9—if you know, you know!). That said, Next to Normal is an underrated masterpiece. Ride the Cyclone cast recording is a fun listen. SMASH was a documentary. And it’s about time the Shaw Festival programs The Frogs.
