Yosef Tamir

A Grammy-nominated violist with Toronto ARC Ensemble, Yosef is a member of the Canadian Opera Company Orchestra. He has also led the viola sections of the Norwegian Radio, Canadian Opera Company and Verbier Chamber Orchestras, among many others. As a soloist and chamber musician, he has collaborated with  St Petersburg, St. Lawrence and Ying String Quartets, Toronto ARC Ensemble, Pinchas Zuckerman, Measha Brueggergosman, Jasper Wood, Benjamin Bowman, Jonathan Crow, Ruth Laredo, Ilya Kaler, Anton Kuerti and others. He is a prize winner of the 2007 Banff International String Quartet Competition with the Tokai String Quartet, Montreal Symphony Orchestra Standard Life Solo Competition, and American String Teachers Association Competition, to name a few. His performances have been broadcasted on NBC Television, CBC Radio and WQSR radio.
