Christine Bae
Performance
Christine (Cheon Gyeong) Bae holds an Advanced Certificate in Performance at the University of Toronto, where she is finishing her Master’s degree under the tutelage of Steven Philcox, Head of the Collaborative Piano Programme.
Christine was recognized as having an exceptional sensitivity and strong musical talent in piano and singing at an early age. She actively performed in The Children’s Choir of Korean Broadcasting System, taking a role as the main character in its musical production. Christine’s passion for music kept leading her to classical piano, and she earned her Bachelor’s degree with multiple scholarships in Piano Performance at Chugye University for the Arts in Korea. She pursued her musical journey at Ewha Womans University Graduate School of Music, accompanying Madame Butterfly at the Seoul Opera Ensemble, Pagliacci at the National Theater of Korea, and Korea Campus Crusade for Christ Choir. After arriving in Toronto, she has collaborated with young musicians for competitions, concerts, master classes, and auditions.
Since Christine started studying at the University of Toronto, she has participated in masterclasses with amazing artists, such as pianist John Hess and bass-baritone Eric Owen. As well, she has also been featured in the Vocalis Master’s/DMA Series hosted by the voice department.
