Daniel Solon
Performance
Daniel Solon attended the University of Texas, Austin (BA English, Theatre and Dance minor), studied acting at The New School in NYC, received MFA Writing for Stage and Broadcast Media from the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, and MA Opera Making from Guildhall School of Music & Drama, London. Daniel is an alum of the Jerwood New Opera Writing Foundations Course at Aldeburgh Music, UK. His work as a theatre maker has been presented internationally including Austin’s FronteraFest, Dallas Fringe Festival, Philly Fringe, Brighton Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Aldeburgh Music, and Barbican. Daniel is a guest lecturer at the London College of Communications, Chelsea College of Art and the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. He is an in-demand dramaturge working at The Space and The Bush theatres, both in London. Daniel recently directed Fresh Squeezed Ounce of Opera in Austin, TX – a showcase of four new micro-operas including the North American premier of his work, ‘Door’.
