Micah Schroeder

Performance

Canadian-American baritone Micah Schroeder, praised for his “smooth as glass lyrical contours” (The National Post), has performed across North America and in Europe. Micah Schroeder is a recent graduate of the opera studio of Opéra de Lyon, the Vancouver Opera Yulanda M. Faris Young Artist Program and the Opera Idaho Young Artist Program. In the 2021 season Schroeder was an Artist-in-Residence with Pacific Opera Victoria and was featured in the documentary recital film Denkmal. Schroeder received a Bachelor and Master of Music degree from the University of British Columbia and an Artist Diploma in Opera from the University of Toronto. He has also appeared with Saskatoon Opera, Aspen Music Festival, Banff Centre for the Arts, Highlands Opera Studio, and Against the Grain Theatre in leading roles as well as the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and the Kamloops Symphony Orchestra. Notable roles in Schroeder’s repertoire include the title roles in Don Giovanni, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Eugene Onegin and Pelléas et Mélisande, Schaunard in La Bohème, Belcore in L’elisir d’amore, Harlekin in Ariadne auf Naxos, Count Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro, Guglielmo in Così fan tutte, and Baryton-martin in Vivier’s Kopernikus.
