Iron Chef D’Orchestre

Cooking up musical mayhem

Jennifer Tung and Keith Klassen co-host this delicious concert inspired by Jennifer’s 15 years of working with Tapestry and Keith’s unique sense of humour. Hungarian-Canadian mezzo-soprano Krisztina Szabó joins in an evening of new ideas, sharing the excitement of creation.

Also, introducing Randy, but we don’t know much about Randy.

With a little game show, some improv and maybe even some ventriloquism, the audience will be invited to participate in the creation process, so roll up your sleeves, Chef!

Jennifer Tung is among the first two conductors to join the Women in Musical Leadership program. Here are a few of her highlights

  • Conducted two Canadian opera premieres last season: Of the Sea (Tapestry Opera) and Show Room (Continuum Contemporary Music)
  • Assisted in the premiere of Pomegranate with the Canadian Opera Company
  • Programmed and conducted a concert with Symphony Nova Scotia
  • Conducted the season finale concert at Kamloops Symphony with guest soloist Jeremy Dutcher
  • Upcoming next season:
    • Conducting Menotti’s opera The Medium with Saskatoon Symphony
    • Conducting the spring opera production at the Glenn Gould School

Women in Musical Leadership builds pathways to success for exceptional women and non-binary music leaders for generations.

Help transform the face of music in Canada!
