Pianist and composer Stéphane Mayer has established himself as one of Canada’s most sought-after répétiteurs and vocal coaches. A graduate of the COC ensemble, Stéphane recently returned to the Canadian Opera Company as head coach for their production of Carmen. Stéphane has worked across Canada with many leading opera companies on productions such as La Bohème (Edmonton Opera), Louis Riel (Opéra de Québec), Missing (Pacific Opera Victoria), The Rocking Horse Winner (Tapestry Opera), Ours (Opera on the Avalon) and Flight (The Royal Conservatory of Music). An accomplished art-song recitalist, having studied German Lied at the famed Schubert Institute, Stéphane has appeared on stage with many of Canada’s premiere vocal artists. For the past three summers, Stéphane has served as Head of Music for Highlands Opera Studio in Haliburton for their productions of L’elisir d’amore, Eugene Onegin and Don Giovanni. A McGill University’s Schulich School of Music graduate, Stéphane also worked as a vocal coach and accompanist at Western University.
