Le Kitchen Party

An Acadian celebration of food and music

-

Juliane Gallant brings Acadian traditions’ warm, infectious music to Toronto.

Juliane will share a mix of traditional and contemporary compositions with exceptional guest performers Jacques Arsenault, Pierre-André Doucet and Marie Andrée Gaudet, who will transport you to small-town Maritime Canada and fill your hearts with nostalgia for a home-cooked meal around the kitchen table with friends and family.

Everyone is encouraged to join in the singing and dancing!

Juliane Gallant is among the first two conductors to join the Women in Musical Leadership program. Here are a few of the highlights:

  • Named Resident conductor of Calgary Philharmonic
  • Has conducted many concerts with Calgary Philharmonic this year as Resident, as well as a concert with Victoria Symphony in December
  • Jumped in to conduct Turina’s Danzas fantásticas with the Calgary Philharmonic without prior rehearsal and with just a few hours notice (!!)
  • Upcoming next season:
    • Continuing as Resident Conductor of Calgary Philharmonic:
      • Conducting bilingual performances of Francis Poulenc’s L’histoire de Babar
      • Conducting performances featuring Chantal Kreviazuk, Ashley Brown (the original Mary Poppins on Broadway), the Calgary Philharmonic Chorus, and the Calgary Opera McPhee Emerging Artists

Women in Musical Leadership builds pathways to success for exceptional women and non-binary music leaders for generations.

Help transform the face of music in Canada!
